'Pilates 77' is an intimate Pilates studio in Beckenham, run by Elena; a former professional ballet dancer. The studio offers a welcoming and intimate set up where classes are tailored to the individual, from overcoming injuries, strengthening the core or generally elongating and strengthening your whole body. Our practice is one of a kind and caters to a broad range of clientele. ABOUT ME

I have been a professional ballet and contemporary dancer for 20 years. Pilates has helped me to overcome many injuries that I have had during my career.
My appreciation for Pilates led me to train with the Body Art Science International (BASI) and become a qualified Pilates Instructor. I also obtained a ‘Spinal Surgery Pilates’ and a 'Ante and Post Natal’ qualification with APPI (The Australian Physiotherapy & Pilates Institute). 

Along with my Pilates studio in Beckenham Kent, I teach and coach across London in various Holistic and Fitness centres. I believe that through centering, concentration, control, precision and breathing, the entire body learns how to use every muscle group evenly without over straining it. This is one of the reasons so many elite athletes have introduced Pilates into their daily fitness regime.

 

WHY PILATES?

The Journey

Pilates improves muscle elasticity and joint mobility. Consequently the body gains balance, strength and flexibility and you will less likely to get injured. Pilates is about teaching the client to reeducate the body through controlled and flowing movements with a guided breathing pattern. We offer one on one sessions as well as small group classes (4 people max). We guide our clients through each step of a carefully designed exercise. The client will learn how not to over or under train the muscular system through the process of ‘muscle isolation’.

GENERAL PILATES

Monday 7.30 -8.25 pm

Wednesday 6.00-6.55 pm
Friday 9.15 – 10.10 am

This small group class is limited to four people and is for all ages and level of fitness. We are able to focus on each of our clients’ individual needs, whether is trying to overcome a specific injury or physical condition.
