Misa Solemne is a musical setting of the Mass Ordinary texts for mixed voices and organ by Filipino composer Alejandro Consolacion II. The composer also incorporates elements of Filipino folk music, such as pentatonic scales, syncopated rhythms, and bamboo flute sounds.

Misa Solemne has been performed by various choirs in the Philippines and abroad, such as the Philippine Madrigal Singers, the Ateneo Chamber Singers, the University of Santo Tomas Singers, the Coro Tomasino, the Chorus Paulinus, the Philippine Choral Directors Association Choir, the Asian Institute for Liturgy and Music Choir, the Singapore Bible College Chorale, and the Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

Alejandro Consolacion II was born in Manila on October 4, 1980. He started his musical studies at an early age, learning piano from J. Greg Zuniega and organ from Armando Salarza. He also studied composition from Fr. Manuel Maramba and Dr. Jonas Baes at St. Scholastica's College, where he was a recipient of the Sister Baptista Battig Music Scholarship. He later pursued his graduate degree in organ performance at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, where he studied with Ken Cowan and Matthew Lewis. He also participated in masterclasses with renowned organists such as Olivier Latry, Marie-Claire Alain, Jean Guillou, and David Briggs.

As an organist, Consolacion has performed in various venues and festivals in the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Singapore, and the United States. He has also recorded several CDs featuring the historical organs in the Philippines, such as the Bamboo Organ of Las PiÃas, the Pipe Organ of Manila Cathedral, and the Pipe Organ of Baclayon Church in Bohol. He was awarded second prize and audience prize in the National Organ Improvisation Competition held at the University of Michigan in 2014. He is currently the organist and music director of St. Joseph Parish Church in Las PiÃas City.

As a composer, Consolacion has written numerous works for choir, solo instrument, chamber ensemble, orchestra, and musical theater. His music reflects his Filipino heritage and his Catholic faith, as well as his influences from Western classical music and Asian folk music. His choral works have been performed by prestigious choirs such as the Philippine Madrigal Singers, the Taipei Philharmonic Chamber Choir, the Singapore Bible College Chorale, and the Westminster Choir College.
